Soon after Tintype Studio, Inc. was founded in 1980 by Di Murphy, we received a phone call from a mom whose child was battling cancer and would be unable to make it to picture day. Jake was a huge baseball fan and was very disappointed that he would miss that year’s pictures. Was there any way that we would come to the hospital to take his picture? Of course we took Jake’s picture and from that moment, our mission was clear: we would dedicate ourselves to providing photographic memories to parents of their children during the most memorable activities of their lives.

Since that day, we have photographed over 2 million faces in schools and sports, tournaments and championships. We pride ourselves in the photographs we take and the services we provide. In 1998 we were the first company to convert to digital.

In 2000, we opened our lab in order to provide even higher quality and to have complete control over the entire printing and delivery process. In 2006, we were awarded the prestigious Express Digital Trailblazer Award. This national award is presented to companies that have exhibited excellence and innovation in digital imaging. This award has been presented to only 3 companies since 1994. We were honored to receive this recognition.

Children and parents alike have benefited from our cutting-edge graphics, innovative products and professional staff. We introduced plaques, double- sided trading cards, multiple-image posters, complimentary team photos and Attitude Team Photos into the marketplace. Hassle-free, on-time Picture Days are our specialty.

Today, 85% of our clients have been with us for 10 years or more.
